That makes sense. And do you have to do this after every move?
Mieke: Ja, altijd. Je moet je adreswijziging binnen vier weken doorgeven.

Mieke: Even een paar woorden voor het examen, Bram. Luister goed: 'de gemeente', 'inschrijven' en 'de verhuizing'.

Bram: Oké, 'de gemeente' is de organisatie van de stad. 'Inschrijven' is je registreren. En 'de verhuizing' is als je naar een nieuw huis gaat.
Okay, 'the municipality' is the organization of the city. 'To register' is to register yourself. And 'the move' is when you go to a new house.
Mieke: Helemaal goed. En vergeet 'het legitimatiebewijs' niet. Dat is je paspoort of ID-kaart.
Absolutely right. And don't forget your 'proof of identity'. That's your passport or ID card.
Mieke: Een tip voor het examen: je moet je altijd inschrijven bij de gemeente waar je gaat wonen. Neem altijd een geldig legitimatiebewijs mee naar je afspraak.
A tip for the exam: you must always register with the municipality where you are going to live. Always bring a valid proof of identity to your appointment.
